The studio name comes directly from the 1997 masterwork ‘Anam Cara’ by the late, great Irish poet and philosopher John O’ Donohue. Anam Cara translates from Irish-Gaelic to: soul friend, and is a deeply nourishing concept and understanding of love and friendship.

O'Donohue's writings are a wise & timeless lens into all that is mysterious and soul-sustaining within us and the worlds we move between; his books and poetry are the ones you return to again and again.

It is my hope to capture relationships with the same tender quality.

“A friend is a loved one who awakens your life in order to free the wild possibilities within you…The one you love, your anam cara, your soul friend, is the truest mirror to reflect your soul. The honesty and clarity of true friendship also brings out the real contour of your spirit.”

- John O’Donohue

This world was blessed to have known the beloved John O’Donohue…

His writings and meditations are an unfolding inspiration that sustains my work as an artist and ponderer of the invisible world.

O’ Donohue shares an ancient mystical wisdom that anchors our spirits in these modern times of ecological and spiritual disconnection.

I couldn’t recommend his writings highly enough.

He left the earthly realm unexpectedly in 2008.
